Free Trams in Las Vegas
There is a shuttle tram in Las Vegas for which you can buy a pass. But there are also 2 free trams in Las Vegas. Most people don't know about these until it is too late, or they have been there a few times.
The first one has 3 stops. The Excalibur, The Luxor, and Mandalay Bay. It is a short ride, and the tram leaves about every 5 minutes, give or take a minute or two. This tram runs 24 hours a day
The second tram runs between The Mirage and Treasure Island. It runs about every 10 to 15 minutes. The hours are from 9 am to 1 am.

Tips for Traveling to Las Vegas
Today I though I would cover a few tips for traveling to Las Vegas.
One of the hardest decisions to make once you arrive is where to go first. But once you decide, I would highly suggest considering the "Deuce" as your primary source of transportation. The "Deuce" is a double decker bus which stops near every casino on the strip and will also talk you downtown. For a mere Five Dollars you can buy a 24-hour pass which will save not only your legs, but also loads on taxi fare.
You'll want to check out the famous free shows while you're there. If you start out with the Sirens at Treasure Island, at the end you'll have just enough time to walk on to the Mirage to see the Volcano explode, and then as you arrive at the Bellagio you'll be just in time for the Fountain and Light show (aka Fountains of the Bellagio).
Other free sights to see in Vegas include:
Lion Habitat at MGM
Circus Acts of Circus Circus
The Flamingo Wildlife Habitat
The Dealertainers
CBS Research Center
Fremont Street Experience

Just Back from Myrtle Beach
I just got back from Myrtle Beach. It was a nice relaxing trip. The temperature there was in the high 80's and 90's the whole time I was there. But it felt comfortable. It's amazing how much the lack of humidity can make a difference.
I stayed at a little resort in downtown called the Polynesian Resort. Although there were a lot of families staying there, I still would only recommend this place as only a place to lay your head.
There's not really a bad neighborhood in Myrtle Beach. However, I would suggest anyone planning a trip there to stay either on the South of North side of the Grand Strand. Or before making your reservation, you might ask one simple question...Does the hotel have interior hallways leading to the rooms? Those that do, are usually worth paying a little more.

Always Make the Call
This week I searched the internet for affordable hotel rates. Planning to go to Myrtle Beach the weekend before the 4th of July, trying to find the very best rates for the best hotle on the ocean seemed a bit challenging.
After searching 100's of web sites (no joke) and some them multiple times, I finally decided which hotel I was going to stay. The rate on the hotel's web site was a little more than the best deal I had found, so I decided to make the call.
You would not believe what I found....By calling the hotel direct, the rates were $20 cheaper than the rates posted on their web site. And $14 dollars cheaper per night than any other web site.
With tax, my total for 3 nights, Thursday thru Sunday is $219.77! That's right, oceanfront, what a great deal!
Now I know, Always Make the Call!

Chicago Day Trip - Cubs Game - under $100 2 People
We decided to take a trip to Chicago to see the Cubs play a baseball game before the kids got out of school.
Waiting to purchase my tickets at the last minute on eBay turned out to be a good idea. We paid only $30.75 for 2 tickets to the game.
The parking however was the most expensive item we purchased that day, which was $25.00. Next time I think we'll take the advice of the announcers on WGN and park near the train and ride it to Wrigley Field. I'll check the prices and get that information listed on here soon.
Concession stand prices were a little steep as usual, but nothing unexpected. We paid a total of $40 for snacks during the game, including vendor tips. For a total of $95.75 for the whole day. Not bad for a day trip.
And best of all the Cubs won!!!
