Next we had to decide how long we could stay and get the best deal on a flight. After many searches, we ended up getting tickets from South Bend, IN to New York, NY for only $118.50 round trip.
Then I went to Resideo.com and booked a room at a great rate (for NYC). But decided we couldn't spend too many nights in NYC (only 4) so we would need to travel to other cities during the 10 days we had planned. This worked out great because I had always wanted to go to Atlantic City and also, see the Liberty Bell in Philadephia.
So here's how the trip went. We left SBN on Saturday morning and arrived in NYC in the afternoon. We spent 5 days/4 nights in NYC. Left for Atlantic City on Wednesday, spending the whole day in Philadelphia as it was on the way. We spent 3 nights in Atlantic City then headed to Boston...Yep, I said Boston. We won't make that drive again, 2 hours to cross the George Washington. And then the last night back in NYC before we headed for home from LGA.
NYC was great, we had purchased The New York Pass--Admission to 40 of New York City's top attractions, starting at $65 per day!
From there we drove to Philadelphia and spent the whole day.
That night we were unable to find a good deal on Hotels in Philadelphia
We spent 3 nights in Atlantic City. While there we enjoyed the Boardwalk, the Atlantic City Outlet Mall aka "The Walk" and the beach.
Next we went to Boston. We got a great deal on a Candlewood Suite on the outskirts and took the train into town (great way to travel in any city). We walked a lot of the Freedom Trail, went to Cheers (a must while in Boston), and visited Fenway Park. A great holiday weekend, unfortunately the next day it was back to NYC to fly home.
I definitely want to go back to New York City and visit. There is so much to see and do in all big cities. Here's hoping you enjoy all of your travel adventures!
